  1. Digital-empirical
Description: Comparative analysis of the empirical and digital observation of the same artifact (Sarcophagus of the Spouses)
Research Question: study of the visual/sensorial impact of real vs digital object. Can we see the same level of engagement, visual focus, attention?
Methods: Visual Thinking Strategies, Eye Tracking, EEG
  2. Artefact’s visual narrative
Description: observation of a complex iconography (ex. Attic crater, Greek myths or similar)
    Research Question:
Methods:Visual Thinking Strategies, Eye Tracking, EEG
  3. Display in-out
Description: observation of an artifact inside and outside a museum display
    Research Question:
Methods:Visual Thinking Strategies, Eye Tracking, EEG
  4. Objects’ recontextualization
Description: observation of a cluster/series of artifact inside and outside the original museum display
Research Question: how we perceive differently artifacts in relation to space, light, location, etc.; for example in a reconstruction (funerary or ritual deposit) and in an artificial space (the display)
Methods: Visual Thinking Strategies, Eye Tracking, EEG
  5. Visitor’s categories
Description: observation of series of museum artifacts (or example in a gallery) following a specific path. The visitors are classified in different categories with preliminary interview before the test (for example with or without a specific museum background)
Research Question: how different categories of visitors act in the observation of the same collection of artifacts.
Methods: Visual Thinking Strategies, Eye Tracking, EEG
VR eye-tracking session over the Sarcophagus of the Spouses
